80D flash won't allow shutter faster than 250th sec

Hi everyone,

My 80D will not go faster than 250/sec shutter speed with the built in flash open. I've reset everything I can think of, tried different lenses, different modes, no change. I've tried the AV mode sync settings, nothing changes as far as shooting above 250.

Does anyone have any advice?

Most decent Canon external flashes can use High Speed Sync that can bypass that limitation.
