Very good AF system. Quite close to what the pro bodies used in the 1D, 1DS, 1Ds2 1D2, & 1D2n.

Very good frame rate in continous shooting mode (Spray & pray)

Very good buffer to handle all those shots while waiting to write them to the card.

AF-Speed, even in darkness.

100% viewfinder.

without thinking more than five seconds about it...

- frame rate

- AF system

- 1.6 crop factor (gives my 70-200 just a little bit more "oomph" (reach))

even though i also have a 1dx, my 7d is my workhorse - its my "walkaround" camera

the "fourth" top feature? canon's service center support -- i've had to take it in a couple times now, and canon's service is superb - five stars

Be advised that there is a learning curve to the 7D, and especially the AF system. If you intend to shoot much action I highly advise that you spend the time learning how to run through the AF system choices.
