topic Mode dial not working fully in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

Hello,

My brand new Canon 700D arrived today and all is well apart from one thing. The mode dial does not fully work. Whenever I go to select, for example, Scene Intelligent Auto (A+) on the mode dial itself, on the screen the Sports option enables itself instead of Scene Intelligent Auto. The other way round is the same. When I go to select the Sports option on the mode dial, the Scene Intelligent Auto comes up. This goes for every option. Whatever I want to select, the opposite of that option on the speed dial enables. More examples include: I want SCN but Flash off comes on. I want Flash off but SCN comes up.

This is a brand new camera which I unboxed today. Surely, this sort of thing should not be happening? Any solutions?

Thanks,

Alan

Just a thought - the active option is selected by lining it up with the white line on the prism housing. Sounds like you are lining it up with the ON position.
