I purchased a TT560 Speedlite for my canon rebel t3i and can't figure out how to get the flash to work with the camera. The settings I have on my camera are :

flash firing _ enable

E-TTL II meter - average

Built in flash function -Easy Wireless

Flast mode - E- TTL II

Shutter sync - 1st curtain

Wireless function - there are three and I have it set on the middle one

Channel 1

Firing Group All

When I turn my TT560 flash on and turn my camera flash on all that happens is the camera flashes the picture. What am I doing wrong ?

I have heard that the firmware needs to be updated and can only be done by the company. A guy I know bought one, why not they are 10% the cost of a 580EX, and it didn't work either. The company, I forget their name, replaced it free.

These cheap flashes are always a crap shoot. Get a good one and OK but a large percentage are faulty or won't work.
