SL2 is meant to be a lower price/feature camera. Can you afford the T7i. If yes, get it. If no, that’s why the SL2 exists.

Rebel T7i. Not even a choice go for the T7i all the way.

As you said. the *only* reason to consider the SL2 is the small size, and it is not that much smaller.
