EOS 1200D / Rebel T5 cant shoot in creative modes.

I have a new 1200D, i can't use the creative modes no display there can't even access the menu form there so i can do a factory reset. in rest of the modes it shows "this function is not selectable in the current shooting mode " but the menu opens here but theres no Restore option. Any clue on what to do ? Is there a way to hard reset or something ? Please Help.

I hope I'm not insulting you, but this issue has come up several times with new Rebel owners and each time iit was because they were confused on where to place the dial icon.

Its not the on/off switch, but the line opposite the switch.
