If the lens is out of adjustment relative to the camera and you correct that (via autofocus microadjustment, for example), the effective performance of the lens is gooder. Right?

I purchased the Tamron 150-600 G2 lens and the new Canon 90D camera. Am having fun getting to know this equipment. The Tamron lens came packaged with the Tap-in Console. I checked to be sure firmware is up to date on the lens, but are there any adjustments to the lens with the tap-in for the Canon 90D camera? Have done some searching but not finding anything out there. Perhaps the camera is too new for those suggestions.

Spend some time taking lots of still shots with it first. Action shots are good, still shots from a tripod at varying distances will tell you more about how well the lens is performing.

In fact, I would not bother making any adjustments to either the camera or lens for several months. Get some shots on the shutter using a variety of your lenses.

"... are there any adjustments to the lens with the tap-in for the Canon 90D camera?"

No, --- don't mess with it for now. It probably doesn't need any anyway. Tamron may come out with new FW that includes instructions for the 90D but not yet.
