t5i Built-In Flash

I've got a t5i Rebel and at first I had this issue, now it's all the time....when pressing the flash button, the flash unit would pop up....now, it's not functioning at all. What am I doing wrong? HELP! LOL

Flash will only pop up with button if you are in P, M, Tv or Av.

The linkage is dirty. Clean with a q-tip and denatured alcohol. You may have to help it with your fingernail to get it up.

But the first thing to try when the camera does not do as you think it should, is reset it to factory defaults. Always do this first.
