I use the remote software a Lot and have started having a problem when in Live Mode while connected to the lap top...

If I am Connected there is no problem but when I switch to Live View to see what the camera is seeing it will run for a bit and then give a "Connection Lost" Error and shut down the software... You cannot restart it unless you unplug the USB cable and plug in back in... Then you can restart the software and all works fine... but when switching back to Live View it may run from anywhere between 1 sec and 20 minutes with no issues then "Connection Lost" and the software shuts down... I have tried several cables, Reloaded the software and made sure Batteies are full charge... I have had the Camera for a year and a half and this just started in the last month... Before i could leave in live mode untill the battery pack ran out with never such a failure....

I have a Canon T3 (1100D) with several Canon Lenes... I use Canon EOS Utility Software for remote control through USB port....

Just to note there are times when it works perfect... and has worked perfect for over a year... If I just run the camera through the software and have the remote control program running it works perfect ..never drops out... But when I switch to Live Mode it may run for a few seconds or for an hour or more... But will give a notice of " Connection Lost" then the software will close and cannot be restarted until you unplug the USB cable and plug it back in... once you do that it runs fine until I start Live View and the again anywhere from a second to minutes it will fail with the same notice and same thing requiring unpluging and repluging the cable to get it to run...

Thanks... I just sent a Report through the Email link for problems on the Canon site... Love the camera and hope someday to upgrade but being a disabled vet I'm on a fixed income... But the T3 takes great shots and I have over 700,000 views of my images shot with it on Google Earth along with several shots being prize winning shots on several sites...

http://www.panoramio.com/user/6472695

http://www.pixoto.com/quantummist/awards

http://www.viewbug.com/member/Quantummist
