Cannon t5i photo review doesnt work with viewfinder.

When im taking photos with the view finder. My lcd screen goes completely black. Only for photo review and for changing the settings. Only recently has the lcd started acting up.

Try pressing INFO button.

Hi Dennisthemenace!

Just above the optical viewfinder on the back of the camera is a small Display-Off Sensor. It senses when you put you face up to the back of the camera to look through the viewfinder and shuts off the LCD. You can disable this in the menu by doing the following:

Press MENU.
Select the [Tools #2] tab.
Select [LCD auto off].
Select [Disable].

How quickly does it go black? It will not stay lit indefinitely. It will shut off it there is no activity.

Is the rubber viewfinder eyepiece displaced upwards?
