When I try to take a picture, it says: "Card cannot be accessed. Reinsert/change card or format card with camera."

So, I try to format the cards, and it says "Cannot format. Change card.".i just got a brand new one and this is what keep happing.please helpl!!

I dont think so ,but i dont know what write protected means?..the sd card was brand new

So it is happening with two different cards? Not likely both are write protected. Does a known good SD card work? Do you have a friend with a Rebel you can try? Otherwise format the SD card in your computer and see if the T5i sees it.

If it doesn't respond to these you may need to have service check it out.

I try formatting the sd card on the computer but it not working. I got a 16gb sdhc ultra sandisk.so would i need a different kind ???
