      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi TJSPLACE21!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks for posting!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Error 99 is a general error code displayed when the camera knows something is not working properly, but not exactly what.&amp;nbsp; The error is typically associated with lens communication or shutter issues.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;OL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Remove the lens, battery and memory cards from the camera, then let the camera sit for about 20 minutes.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Clean the contacts on the lens and camera body using a soft microfiber cleaning cloth.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;LI&gt;Reinstall just the battery and power the camera on.&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;P&gt;Does the error still appear?&amp;nbsp; If not, reinstall the lens.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Does the error appear with the lens attached?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at &lt;A target="_blank" href="http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/contact_us_consumer"&gt;Contact Us&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
