I got a new canon Rebel T4i, but i keep getting an error..

My canon will not read my SD card even though I have bought to different cards. I dont know what else to do.

Did you format the cards in camera or with a computer? In camera would be best but either method should work. If you install the cards in a card reader attached to your computer are they recognized?

First off, what does the error message say?

Next, T4i's use SD cards - and there's a small sliding switch on the side of those cards that "locks" them. Is the switch in the correct position? You might try changing the position and re-inserting the card.

If that doesn't work, it's not beyond reason that the SD card slot is simply defective.

If you bought the camera new and it's still under warranty, you should return it.
