EOS Rebel T3i SD card formatting. How long does low-level formatting take?

New to EOS Rebel T3i. Attempting to low level format a new ScanDisk 128 GB. New Charged battery. Per owner's manual I hit "set" and everything goes blank. Manual says that low level will take a bit longer and that the menu will reappear when completed. It has been a good while now.

That's a pretty large card, but the camera should be able to handle it, in theory. A low level format tests for bad storage locations, and tags them as bad when it finds them. What happens if you try it without checking the "Love Level Format" box?

If all else fails, perform the low level format with a computer, and then another format in the camera without checking the low level format box, in order to setup the appropriate folders.
