The LCD panel indicates all is well (including the battery), I aim the camera and press halfway to focus and everything still seems to be fine, then when I press down the rest of the way to take the picture nothing happens. A look back at the LCD screen shows an empty battery (which flashes a few times) with nothing else on the screen. I have changed batteries and still get the same result.

Are the batteries making good contact? Is there anything on the contacts?
