If you can't see any obvious mehanical issues with the flash, then you need to send it to Canon.

(You might try gently pushing up on the flash when it tries to release it.)

I have a Canon rebel t5i and every time I try to take a picture with flash it says there's a problem with the built-in flash and that i should switch the camera off and then back on. I do but then I get the same error message. What should I do?
