    <description>&lt;P&gt;The camera does not normally report this (there is no menu, etc. to check it... nor is the shot number embedded in a photograph meta-data, etc.)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;”officially” if you send a camera in for service or tune-up, you can request that they also report the shutter count, and Canon will give you that info.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But there are a handful of 3rd party utilities that fetch the shutter count from the camera.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you have a Mac, there’s a utility by Dire Studio called “Shutter Count” ... and it’s not very expensive (a few dollars). &amp;nbsp;They used to make a windows edition, but stopped (not sure why).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
