topic Canon 70D Live View not working properly in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

I am having issues when using live view on my Canon 70D. I am able to access live view; however, when I push the shutter button (either the button itself or on the touch screen), the camera stops working completely and I have to turn it off and back on. At first, this was intermittent, however, it has gotten worse. I am using fully charged batteries. This happens with my Canon lenses as well as third party ones. Thanks for any advice.

Hey y’all.

My live view is not working at all. Canon lens attached.... any ideas?? I really need it back up as I’m mostly a landscape photographer and use a tripod.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I assume you mean that the screen is completely dark in live view.

1) Can you see the menus on the screen when you press the menu button?

2) When you press the live view button do you hear the snap of the mirror retracting and the shutter opening?

3) Are you sure that the Live View/Movie switch is in the Live View position.

Any details you can provide might help.

Jennifer,

Reset your camera first. This gets it back to a known state. In the menus under Tools clear all settings. If it still doesn't work get back to me.
