We haven't have that problem for a while especially in DSLR camera. The 70D is the newest one from Canon, it should accept most if not all capacity card on the market.

I am aware of many of the reasons for using larger or smaller capacity SD cards but am interested in knowing the largest card that allows all functions of the card to be exercised. Particularly formatting. I have discovered on earlier cameras that while a card of, say 16GB, can be written to and read from, that same card cannot be formated to its maximum capacity in the camera.

The 70D isn't shipping yet, but in my 60D I have a 64GB card that I can use with no problem. I have not tried anything larger.

I've seen 128GB and 256GB cards, but they're pretty expensive and it would be pretty tough to fill even a 128GB card in a day (assuming a person is shooting only RAW at an average images size of 25MB per image, that'd require over 5000 images to fill a 128GB card.)

I currently use a 64gb SDXC 170mbps write SD card in my 70D and I'd be hard pressed to fill that in a day and I do a lot of wildlife action photography with it.

The largest I've used in it was a 128gb Samsung and it had no issues accessing all 128gb

I have 16, 32 and 64 GB cards. 99% of my shots are with the 64. That will hold a lot of photos!
