If even possible what is the best way to take infrared pictures with a T6i? An infrared lens? Infrared filter?

The best way is to send the camera in to have the IR filter removed. Barring that, the second best is an optical filter, but that makes the exposures really long.

If the IR filter is removed then the camera would become a dedicated IR camera or I could still take other pictures? What effect would that have?

It would be a dedicated IR camera.

Thanks for the info on that site. I think I will look into one of their converted Canon models.
