I got 12.3 MB for the .dmg file, but that file size you get isn't the best way for determining file integrity. After calling someone at Canon for support, they confirmed that the file size was what it was supposed to be, so now I've been able to do the firmware update.

If anyone wants this for future reference, here's the md5sum info for the .FIR file:

MD5SUM:

a14a0e9ec981831d8091b8bdc5560ce7 /media/mike/EOS_DIGITAL/5D200212.FIR

SHA256SUM:
7032ce522ac8ff04c41325450b3cc8de4165094be1785e585f2d45f15f93a2a9 5D200212.FIR

Hello, The file size listed for the firmware isn't matching what I'm getting for the Windows or Mac OS X firmware download. Could anyone give me an MD5sum for the 5D200212.FIR file? That seems like a much better way of confirming the integrity of the file.

According to Canon website :

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/cameras/support-dslr/eos-5d-mark-ii?subtab=downloads-firmware

the file size for Mac OS X is slightly different. Download only from Canon website and it should be fine.
