Canon EOS Rebel T5i won't stop taking pictures

My camera was working just fine when all of a sudden it started taking too many pictures in a row without stopping, even though I'm in single shooting mode. I click the button to take a picture and it waits a second to take it... then takes another... and another... and another and it just wont stop! How do I fix this?

Reset it. When anything happens that you can't explain, reset the camera. Easy!
