I think my CamRanger does this (I don't use it for that), but that's an expensive solution.

Refocusing a lens can cause some difference based on focus-breathing (that's where the true focal length changes just be shifting focus). If you are interested in focus-stacking specifically for macro photogoraphy, the common solution is to use a "focus rail". This mounts the entire camera on a rail (attached to a tripod) and the rail allows the entire camera to slide forward/backward (my rail has about 11 cm worth of travel). You shoot, move it a few millimeters & repeat until you have enough frames. But it's not automatic.
