Hello!
I have a surprise party coming up for my niece. What is the best way to get the shocked face as she walks through the door?

If you really want still images, put the camera - and you don't say which camera - in continuous mode. That will take several shots per second.

Oh I'm sorry. My camera is the Canon EOS Rebel T6.

Good, so set the drive mode to continuous and the camera will keep taking shots as long as you are not using flash and you keep the button held down. You might need to be in "P" mode to make sure the flash does not pop up.

Use P mode, ISO 1600, One shot, continuous shooting mode, auto WB and pre-focus on the place where the subject will be when entering the room. Set the lens to a fairly wide FL. Post edit and crop to whatever!

Dump a bucket of ice water on her? That *should* provoke a pretty 'shocked' look. 😉
