External Mic

I plug my Rode VideoMicro to my Canon T6i, and when I look at the menu, it recognizes it, but on the main screen, the three check marks and the mic off sign comes up. Can anyone help me? I really want to film something, but I cannot because of the audio.

Hello dlarlQma,

You'd want to check and make sure that the microphone that you are using is self powered. If it requires any power from the camera, then it may not work properly.

It does work properly, it was me who didn't know how to work with an external mic. I've been replaying all the videos on the camera and not a computer. But thanks for all your help! 😄
