Hi all,

I have a Canon 5D Mk IV and I often use the Camera Connect app (setting the camera as a WiFi hotspot) to transfer pictures to my iPhone. But this does not work for videos. I need to pull videos in the field so they can be posted to social media or sent as proofs to clients immediately, and do not have a computer with me. How can I get these videos from the camera directly into the iPhone?

Thanks!

Hello pmjm,

The Camera Connect app is able to handle video transfer from compatible EOS DSLR cameras provided the movie was recorded in the MP4 recording format. If the movie is in the MOV recording format the application is unable to transfer it.

The EOS 5D Mark IV records in the MOV recording format, which is the reason that message appears which says it can't transfer that file type.
