I shot a mitzvah and a wedding this weekend with an upgraded 1DX and a 600EX-RT flash with mostly low-light setting and I can confirm a substantial improvement with the speed of autofocus lock. It's soooo nice to have make my subjects wait any more for that painful pause while the camera locks in focus.

I have been using both the 5D3 and 1DX since they were released as an event shooter and have been suffering through the slow AF lock in low light with IR assist on BOTH cameras. The recent firmware upgrade on the 5D3 worked like a charm and I am now very pleased with its performance. However my 1DX is exactly as bad as the 5D3 and there is still no fix for it. This baffles me since it's the same AF system and the 1DX is the "flagship" -- completely unacceptable!

CANON: When are you releasing the fix on the 1DX????
