I doubt that will help but since it is free to do and you should do it, try it. It simply defines where the data is stored on the SD card. Nothing else.

I have a Canon Rebel XS and it is coming up on 7 years old. I have been having issues with it being slow processing photos lately. I am not sure what the issue is. I have SDHC class 10 card in it right now. I reset the settings the other night and I haven't tried it out though. Are there any other suggestions?

I'm also looking at a new lens for it. I really like taking pictures of my kids outdoors and having really high quality photos with it. Any suggestions?

Resetting the camera and a new SD card is about all you can do. The Rebel XS isn't worth getting repaired if it is even possible. Sorry, but that's the way it is. A new Rebel is probably the best option. A new Rebel will come with a better lens, too.

BTW, make sure you have the correct SD card recommended by Canon.

Did you low-level format the card in the camera?
