topic 5D and EOS in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

I have a 5D (original 5D, not a MKII or MKIII). I am trying ro run EOS Utility for remote camera operation. This is so I can shoot a photo, and have it automatically download to my computer (Mac OSX) via the USB cable.

The computer recognizes the camera - launches Image Browser when connected. However when I launch EOS Utility, the only option I have is "Monitor Folder", eveything else is grayed out.

EOS version is 2.11.3.1

Camera Firmware version is 1.1.1

Does this software work with an original 5D?

It is grey out because it cannot recognize your camera. What operating system are you using? Can your OS detect your camera (ie can you download your photo direclty from camera to your computer without card reader?).

Your 5D original will not work with 64-bit version of Windows. If you are using 32bit windows or other OS, make sure the communication option is NOT set to PTP.
