t3i not shooting in set resolution

Hi everyone. New to these forums here but not to Canon. Been shooting with my t3i for about 5 years now.

I'm noticing that sometimes (not always) when I'm shooting, the pics don't process at the full res that I've selected that is 5184 x 3456. Some shots are coming in with a resolution of 4608 x 3456...I know I set the resolution in the menu for L + RAW and notice this happening. The RAW will always process at the full res but the JPEG (occasionally) will not. This seems to happen regardless of mode (be it manual or auto). This is very peculiar to me and kind of really bugs me. Does anybody know why this is happening??

Have you changed the aspect ratio ?

I have the aspect ratio set for 4:3 but now that you mention it, it seems the pics this happens on I shot in live view and that may actually be the issue here

5184x3456 is only available when shooting 3:2 aspect ratio.

You're right I should have known that! D'oh! I will be setting that aspect to 3:2 as soon as I get home from work. Thanks so much!
