Static while shooting video inside

So I bought my wife the Canon Rebel T7I Video Creator Kit for Christmas this year. Out of the box we started shooting video at our Christmas party. When we reviewed the video we noticed static in some of the less lit places. We have tried all the settings we could to find out what was going wrong but still have static in it. We have the basic stuff that comes with it. The lens is an EFS 18 - 55mm. Is there something we are missing? Please help. Thanks.

Sounds like noise. Video needs lots of light.

Yes there was noise but there wasn't static on everything. Only on bright stuff or low lit spots like on the side of a sofa or under a chair.
