Cleaning the T2i Sensor

Okay, a strange situation with trying to manually clean the sensor. When I navigate to my Clean Sensor menu, there are only two choices, "Auto Cleaning" and "Clean Now." According to my owner's manual, there is supposed to be a third choice, to "Clean Manually." But it's not showing. I'm not a professional photographer, so maybe there is something painfully obvious I'm overlooking, but darn if I can see it. Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks.

See the little star next to the heading in the manual? That means the camera must be in one of the "Creative Zone Modes" like P, Av, Tv pr M.
