New to Forum - Interesting question

I had been using a Rebel XS for many years and just recently bought a T7. I have a ProMaster 200ST-R speedlight that was working well on the XS.

When I put it on the T7 and have the same Manual settings, I get one flash off camera and then it doesn't flash again unless I cycle the power. On the XS, flash, flash, flash off camera for each push.

What could cause this behaviour? I am thinking something in the T7 is tweaked.

I have no experience with a ProMaster 200ST-R speedlight but I do know not all off brand flashes will work with all Canon cameras. This is probably your situation. Not compatible.

Personally I discourage the use of third party gear but especially third party flashes and batteries and battery grips. Some are OK but some are not.

Bandana, if you still have your XS compare its hot shoe to the T7's. Notice anything missing on the T7?

Contact the vendor and see if they will be releasing a firmware update.

I see the center pin was removed from the hot shoe. I will call and check for a firmware update.
