There are safety switches on the battery and memory compartment doors. If the camera thinks either door is open, it will not power up. Also, a bad memory card can cause problems, so trying turning it on without the memory card.

My camera is not turning on, I have no idea why this is not good help!

I last used it 2 days ago to take a picture, the battery seems fine but the camera does not register it being in at all, the battery is charged. What do?

Hey there,

In addidtion to checking that the battery and memory card door are properly closed, it is always a good indicator to check that either a second battery works on this camera or that your current battery works on a second camera body if you have access to one. If a second battery is no good then the camera may need repair service, but it may be that the battery just needs replacement.

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/service-repair
