Adjusting the speed on the "continuous shooting" mode?

On the T6i, trying to use continuous shooting but I'd like for it to take pictures about half as fast. Is this possible ?

No, it shoots as fast as possible. Just use every other frame.

You could add some time-consuming function like distortion correction to slow things down a bit.
