3 to 10 times the price is why. If I replace anything, it is going to be the component that is causing the problem. The manual flash works fine, the camera is capable of firing the flash. But it refuses to let me see through the lens at certain settings.

I just got the EOS-M3. I plan to use it with a manual flash but when I adjust my settings for my flash, the exposure simulation makes the screen go dark so I can no longer focus or compose. I cannot adjust the exposure to focus and compose and then back for my flash every time I take a shot. I will have to return this camera if there is no solution for this.

Why not use ETTL instead a manual flash.?
