Canon EOS 7D Err 40

I've seen several posts here on the "Err 40" issue with the 7D. Mine is now experiencing it - again. I had it sent in for repair last year by my local camera store. Unfortunately they've since closed and I cannot seem to locate my receipt. That aside, I do need this repaired. Has the root cause been identified?

First of all, you need to remove battery out of the body immediately. I sold my 7D a year ago (approx.) but from what my friedns and the person that bought mine, I found this out. There is a loose screw that has fallen out and shortcircuited one (or more) board(s).

The faulty board(s) need to be replaced. The screw needs to be secured better to make sure the problem won't re-occur.

Just what I have been told no first hand knowledge. BTW mine, although not mine any longer, has not had this happen.

Thanks for the info. Just filled out repair request w/ Canon and will be sending it in later this week.
