Looking for a decent cheap mic for my 5d mike

New or used, not looking to spend more then $50.00 if possible. I know there are plety of knock off mics on the market and am betting some better then others???

I don't know of a "cheap" mic. The Rode VideoMics are extremely popular among videographers who use DSLRs. The mic mounts to the hot-shote (just as an attachment point... it's not electronic) and it's short wire connects to the mic in port on the side of the camera.

The sound quality and directional nature of the mic is very good... but I think the basic mic is (the "VideoMic" ... not the "VideoMic Pro" nor stereo versions of the VideoMic) is about $150.

Perhaps you can catch a Black Friday sale.
