Since it's pretty clear that people aren't going to stop asking questions like this, perhaps Canon should take action to at least make such questions seem sensible. I'd propose that the obvious way to do it would be to stop including instruction manuals with their cameras.

Agree with Bob. No need for a manual when you can wait hours for someone to answer your question.
