If you are looking to clean the image sensor, or anything else inside the camera, then STOP. The mirror box of a camera is very delicate environment. If you need to ask this question, then you need to stay out of there.

However, I do recommend having a bulb type of blower to blow dust out of the camera. The "Rocket Blower" brand is the most popular type of bulb blower.

My advice to new photographers is never put anything smaller than a football in the mirror box! I am OK actually recommend the Rocket blower but blowing off the sensor is again risky. It might not even do any good and if cleaning is needed seek professional help to do it.

For the outside of the camera blue Windex and a microfiber cloth works well. Spray the cloth not the camera with the Windex. Just a couple squirts is enough. BTW, do not use Windex on your lens' glass. Also make sure you store your gear in their bag or a good camera bag.

We have a very helpful (even though it's older) YouTube video on this subject. Check it out HERE.

If you're ever in doubt, or if there is a particle (like pollen) stuck to your sensor that isn't removed by a blower, please send it directly to our facility to be professionally cleaned. You can start that process, and get a free quote, from within your My Canon Account. You can sign up, or sign into your My Canon Account HERE.
