I could change from Slow Motion High Frame Rate Video with one movement only with my old R6 Mk2 but now i need to change two dials and this is ruining my workflow for work...

I would like to request a firmware update for the EOS R6 Mark III that allows Manual (M) exposure in PHOTO mode when the Mode Dial is set to S&F (Slow & Fast Motion).

I am a sports photographer who frequently switches between still photography and slow-motion video during running events.

My preferred workflow is:

Mode Dial: S&F

PHOTO/VIDEO switch → PHOTO: Manual (M) exposure for still photography

PHOTO/VIDEO switch → VIDEO: S&F video with my configured frame rate and manual exposure

This would allow me to switch between still photography and slow-motion video using only the PHOTO/VIDEO switch, without having to change the Mode Dial.

Currently, when the Mode Dial is set to S&F and the PHOTO/VIDEO switch is set to PHOTO, the camera uses Program AE (P) instead of allowing Manual (M) exposure.

This is particularly inconvenient for sports photography because I normally shoot in Manual mode with a specific shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Having to change the Mode Dial every time I want to switch to slow-motion video adds an unnecessary step and can cause missed moments.

I would like to request that Canon add an option in a future firmware update, for example:

S&F Photo Exposure: P / M

This could simply be an optional setting, so users who prefer the current behavior could continue using P, while photographers who need a manual still-photo workflow could select M.

This would make the PHOTO/VIDEO switch much more useful for photographers who alternate between stills and S&F video during the same event.

The workflow was also more convenient on my EOS R6 Mark II, so I would appreciate it if Canon could consider restoring this flexibility on the R6 Mark III.

Thank you, Canon, for considering this firmware feature request.

Personally, I have never used it. I do not know whether or not it asks for your email or contact info. What I do know for certain is that you should not expect a direct response.

I have seen many posts by.forum members complaining about the lack of a response. I don’t think that feedback to users was ever intended.

It seems to work like an old wooden suggestion box mounted on a wall. You drop a written note in a slot in the top, and that would be it.
