My camera stopped taking photos. States it’s busy. I can hold the button down and it makes a ticking noise like it is adjusting but will not take a picture. Any suggestions I have only had it a couple of months and taken less than 40 pictures. I’m using the automatic setting. I tried other settings it didn’t work either

Play along with me here...How charged up is the battery?

I have an R8 that occasionally pitches a hissy fit if the battery is a bit low. It will refuse to take pictures and produce error codes.

Pop in a fresh battery and the R8 is happy as if nothing happened. Put the battery that came out in my R100 and it's perfectly fine for additional shots. Years ago I had a Pentax Super Program that would suddenly stop working because the battery was low, yet the same battery in my ME or K1000 worked perfectly well.

I'm going down this "road" because you said: "...only had it a couple of months and taken less than 40 pictures...".

So could it be as simple as a battery issue?

"Have you tried a new card formatted in the camera?"

Shouldn't matter. Especially if the is no Err 02 showing. The T7 will operated even if there is no SD installed at all.

I suggest a full reset back to out of the box settings. Now of course you need to do all the normal easy stuff like a known good SD (best formatted in camera but not absolutely necessary) and a known good fully charged battery. If you have any accessory attached to the camera remove it. And off brand battery remove it. Beyond these simple steps there is little a person can do and that means a call to Canon 1 (800) 652-2666. Make sure you have registered or you register the T7 before you call. Canon will kelp.

BTW, if, when, you call Canon they will instruct to do what I just suggested.

One more point never ever, as in never ever, use a micro-SD with the plastic adapter. That would fall under, "If you have any accessory attached to the camera remove it." ^^^^
