EOS M100 Error E60 When Enabling Wi-Fi

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Canon EOS M100. Bluetooth works normally, but whenever I try to enable or connect using Wi-Fi, the camera displays the following message:

"A camera error was detected. Will shut down automatically. Restart camera. E60."

The camera then shuts down automatically.

I've already tried resetting the wireless communication settings, but the problem persists. Bluetooth pairing still works without any issues, and the error only occurs when the camera attempts to use Wi-Fi.

Has anyone experienced this before or found a solution? Could this be a hardware issue with the Wi-Fi module, or is there anything else I should try before sending it in for service?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

An E60 error usually indicates a communication issue or hardware problem or issue with your lens.

What is the history on this camera? Are you the original owner? Did you buy it used etc.

Do you have more than one M series lens that you can test the camera with?

Hello Rick!

Not the original owner. Bought it used and does not have any other lenses to test the camera with.
I can shoot photos and record videos just fine. The only problem is when I try to connect the camera with my phone.

Ok, let's start with the basics. Are you connecting the camera and phone to a wireless network, or are you using the camera as a host in infrastructure mode? Ad hoc.

If the latter do you see the camera's SSID name broadcasting on your mobile device.

Finally, are you using an iOS or Android device and what version operating system is it running?
