I got a new router nothing worked so I reset network setting and all that happens with Canon Camera Connect app as it says turn off the LCD screen I don’t know what that means. That means it cut me off and once I turn off the screen, nothing happens you turned on and your back to the same thing again for some reason it says there’s nothing on the camera, but when you go and look at what is on the camera, there’s tons of photos on the camera. I don’t know what to do. I do my work through my Wi-Fi and through the camera a lot of the time and now I’m pretty much stuck at the moment if anybody can help me, I’ll be very grateful.

What do you want to do with the Canon Connect app?

Do you want to shoot photos using a phone or tablet? Or do you want to use it to download photos that you have already taken?

What error message are you getting?

You can use a card reader or USB cable to get the images off for temporaries. (Your computer might already have a card reader)

Kate,

There are two basic ways to do this.

1) Use a USB cable to transfer your photos from your camera to your computer. When you bought your camera, did it come with a USB cable? If not, it looks like you would use a USBA to USBB mini data cable that you can get n Amazon, etc.

Once your get the camera and the computer connected, go to your files on your computer. It should recognize your camera just like it would if you had an thumb drive connected. Look for the DCIM folder and copy and paste the files (photos) from that folder to your computer.

It's important to turn off or disable your wifi on your camera before you do the USB connection. The camera cannot do both at the same time.

2) The other option is to use a piece of software to handle the download once you have the camera and the computer connected. Canon makes a piece of software called EOS Utility that works really well and is free. You can download it from the Canon Support page for the 1300D:

https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer/products/cameras/eos/eos-1300d.html?type=manuals&language=EN

Go to the Support Page and click on Software. It will ask you what kind of operating system your computer uses.

(They have an iPad, not a computer.)

Apple sells a USB-C to SD card adapter for iPad. (If you have the newer iPad with USB-C)

Kate,

Since you have an Ipad, in addition to the USB cable I mentioned, you would need a Lightning cable to go from your USB cable to the Ipad, if you don't want to take your card out of the camera.

Or, as kvbarkley recommends, a card reader adapter for your Ipad, They make them with both USB C and Lightning port connections now.
