Greetings,

If I'm not mistaken, you can set the screen timeout between 15 seconds and 30 minutes.

Is 15 seconds not fast enough for you?

Canon : Product Manual : EOS R5 Mark II : Power Saving https://share.google/DXiSRNIZTxMs8x1lj

You can use this reference to see the buttons that are available for screen off assignment.

Canon : Product Manual : EOS R5 Mark II : Control Customization Details https://share.google/3xA63Zv2FhUzIBtYS

I suggest you try in a different shooting mode. There may be a conflict.

I am continuing to just piddle with my camera checking out all of the functions that can be assigned to a button and came to the "Screen off" function. I assigned it to the AF point selection button. It just doesn't work. I did the same thing with the R1 and it works as I would expect. I also tried the DOF button.

I just updated to firmware 1.3.1 but I didn't play with this function before the upgrade so I don't know if this is new or not.
