I do and get a nice seal but there are also times when I go without and adjust the Droptric adjustment to skip the glasses. Both work well.

Like many, the viewfinder on my R7 is falling apart, but Canon does not seem to provide a replacement (Side note: Come on, Canon! Build quality and support are kind of important.). Anyway, a replacement I attempted from Amazon was not a true fit as the top did not "snap"/hang into place, meaning it would be fastened only at the bottom. An "extended" (i.e., deeper eyecup, shielding from light) is available, but as an eye glasses wearer, I suspect that would be problematic given that my viewfinder display format is already set at '2'.

Has anyone found a true-fit replacement (Of, Canon, it would be GREAT if you had a solution! I'm a Canon user since the 90s, spending just a few dollars on Canon gear. Frustrating!)?

I have the JJC Eyecup Eyepiece Viewfinder for Canon EOS R7 Camera with Soft Silicone Extended Design ($17.00) that I picked up on Amazon that is a perfect fit and does a good job of blocking out light. I have these on all my bodies and think they perform real well. The screw driver works perfectly you just need to have the camera on a padded sturdy surface and apply decent downward pressure.

Do you wear glasses? I'm wondering if the depth of that particular eyecup will make it even tougher to see the screen since one's glasses already cause one's eye to be further away from the viewer (and defeat the light blocking the design provides for the non-glasses wearer).

It looks like that eyecup is going to be the best option. Glasses off/on and making diopter adjustments drives me mad pretty quickly given I need my glasses as soon as I look away from the viewfinder. My glasses are easier to keep track of when they're on my head! 🙂

LOL I get it. I just push them on top of my head. Can't even count the times they have fallen off, mostly when I shoot Macro. The eyepiece is nice and soft but they hold up real well. You can roll them back too, they fold over well. And they don't stop you from flipping the screen out if you need it. I use the EVF all the time but it's still nice if I want to tweak a menu.
