Just off the top of my head, if you are in AV mode, the needle won't move as you change apertures, but your shutter speed will. The only time the needle moves is if you are using exposure compensation.

Unless you have set a minimum shutter speed, and the camera can't go any lower than what you have set.

At least, that's what I think.

Hi there,

a beginner’s question - coming from an R8, I often shoot in Av mode, and when making aperture changes, the exposure meter in the evf moves accordingly - this is not the case with my new R6 MKii - on the lcd vf, It moves as it should- is there a setting that needs to be enabled to activate this in the evf?

Thanks for the reply Steve! This is good to know and what I gathered, just different than my R8. Also, the fact that the meter does move on the rear VF but not the EVF was perplexing.
