Unlike the mechanical shutter, the electronic version is completely silent by design to facilitate discrete shooting. To receive audio feedback, you must navigate to the Beep settings in the yellow Set-up menu (Wrench tab 2). Ensure "Beep" is enabled and set to "Touch/ " or "Enable." This generates a digital "chirp" upon focus and capture.
