Hello,

I have reset my camera settings, lens is off, sd cards slot empty, no accessory attached.

Official canon battery. I have a moderate performance and a excellent one.

The battery would drain after 12hrs it be at 95%, and 24 hrs @ 88%. These are rough numbers.

I'm concerned because within a week of having the camera off, never turned on, with a freshly charged battery inserted the camera battery would be drained close to 0-20%.

<LI-PRODUCT title="EOS R3" id="EOSR3"></LI-PRODUCT> #firmware 1.7.1

Welcome to the Community. Sorry to hear about your experience:

It sounds like you have done your homework looking into the issue: Here’s a checklist, most of which you have already done. In no particular order.

Not switching the camera off when not in use.

Using third party accessories, lens mount adapters in particular.

Not disabling wireless communications when not in use, particularly GPS.

Leaving cabling connected to the camera when not in use.

I am sure there could be other causes I haven’t thought of today. You made no mention about wireless communications, so I assume that you are not using it.

If the issue persists, call Canon Support.

Good catch, I have all wireless communications off, no cables attached, no third party accessory, always turn my camera off when not in use 99% (to cover the 1% of possibility not turning off when not in use, I've been doing tests with fully charged batteries with different performance), let me edit my post.
