EOS R6 Mark II - Continuous Burst + is Lagging?

Hello!

I shoot on an R6 Mark II, with a Laowa 90mm 2.8 x2 Macro Lens, a diffuser, and a Godex V860ii

I just learned how to take 60+ photos in burst with the flash to later stack my photos. Its been going great, but recently every so often it seems like when I do this, it lags, or jumps? and what should be 60 photos, is only 20. I thought it could be my SD card not writing fast enough - but I changed it to a 128GB V90 and it still is doing it?

The question is, I am not educated enough to know if its something I changed myself (maybe I am going faster or slower than normal?) or if its something on the camera I accidentally changed and I don't know what I did so I can't change it back. (I am assuming it's me at this point,)

But followup question - if I go too fast taking photos (maybe when I am not holding the camera steady enough) - would the symptom be choppiness? ...Or is there a setting that would make burst slower? If it's lower light is it slower? Ugh

A flash requires time to recharge the discharge circuit to the flash element. How much time is needed depends on the power setting and how many times it has fired in quick succession. Of course, it helps to have a well charged battery.

The flash isn't the issue though, it doesn't over heat and is ready to go right after. It is set to 1/64. This even happens when I take my first photos of the day 😞 And I always have a full battery as well, both camera and flash.

How are you setting up the 60 shot burst?

Has your shutter speed changed since the issue began?

Hi @rstepien1204 welcome to the forums. What lens are you using this can slow down your burst rate. Especially older adapted EF lenses which were only designed for a max of 12 fps. Many older EF lenses cannot even achieve high bursts rates of mirrorless. What mount adapter are you using if using adapted EF lenses. Or are you using native RF lenses. Flash will slow you down as it has to recharge. As far as I know only Canon’s EL-1 is capable of high FPS shooting. I would also recommend using UHS-II SD Cards. Also Full Sized Cards no adapted Micro SD Cards.
